DESIGN TIPS

BUILDING YOUR HOME GIVES YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO CUSTOMIZE AND OPTIMIZE THE SPACE. THESE FEATURES WILL HELP ELEVATE YOUR HOME AND CREATE A SPACE YOU'LL LOVE FOR YEARS TO COME.

Add insulation into interior walls to help with sound damping.

Tall ceilings, we recommend 9+ feet,  help create a spacious feeling. In addition, they facilitate the inclusion of large windows that can be the focal point of any room, creating a sense of everyday luxury.

Floor to ceiling windows can help fill your home with more natural lighting, adding luxury and aesthetic to the home.

Choose hardwood floors over carpet. They are low maintenance and blend seamlessly with any room theme. Hardwood floors will help enhance your home's elegance.

5

Choose an open concept floor design to favor spaciousness and generate an effortless flow between every room.

6

Instead of starting from scratch, use an existing plan and customize it. Discover one of our plans that you already love or use one of your own as a starting point.

7

Come prepared with a general vision of your ideal design. This keeps the process moving and fun. Consider browsing through Pinterest, Houzz, Zillow, social media, and our media to inspire your vision. You will find it extremely useful to have specific references to what you like. For example, when you go to the tile store you can show them a picture of the color scheme you want for your shower.

COMMUNICATION IS KEY. When building a custom home, construction can be very messy and as you're walking through the home, you may see things that don't look right or don’t look right yet. It's pertinent to call or email the builder and ask your questions. Keeping your concerns to yourself in is ineffective in any relationship and this is a relationship between you and the builder. Communication needs to be clear because you are trusting the builder to build your home.

If you have second thoughts about a certain feature, waiting until the finish can be very costly. For example, imagine we are building you a niche in your shower. When you see it during framing, you decide it doesn't look big enough but you don't say anything until the tile is done. Yes, it can still be changed but now it's a remodeling project and that will cost you more money in the long run because it will have to be reframed and retiled.
